Here is a link to a site that lists “dealer only” auto auctions by state.
Car dealers purchase some of their used car inventory at these auctions.
Most are “dealer only auctions” and only licensed dealers may attend.
There are other types of auctions that the public may attend. They are
insurance, charity, government, and public. Most of these auctions have
policies in effect that require payment in full before taking the car, so
you may want to bring a mechanic with you to do an inspection prior
to bidding on the vehicle.
